For 13 year old Raihanna, having Alex as a Big Sister helped her find the female attention and support she didn’t have at home.
Raihanna’s lives with her father due to a broken relationship with her mother, two older brothers and two young sisters. Her Dad, Steven is a good man who works long hours and struggles with parenting as he did not plan for Raihanna to live with him but he does his best.
Raihanna was craving female attention and was referred by her teacher into the program. Alex’s upbeat, positive and understanding nature has helped her support Raihanna. Together they are working on strategies to help Raihanna modify her challenging and patience testing behaviours. Whilst Raihanna still struggles at school, with Alex’s support she can see a way forward to improve her life.
Please support Big Brothers big sisters mentoring program today and help young people like Raihanna, unlock their potential.
